Forgiveness Cacao ceremony
The power of forgiveness transcends time and space. To forgive ourselves, forgive others and receive forgiveness, is to open our hearts to the magic and wonder of the light and love within.
When you give yourself permission to dig deep rather than skim the surface to consciously move past the pain, there’s room for more love, more peace, more joy.
And what better way to forgive than with chocolate!
Cacao is a Master Plant Teacher. When this raw chocolate is consumed endorphins are released (HELLO HAPPY HORMONES) and our hearts are cracked open, creating a heightened state of being.
She is gentle and nurturing,, but powerful.
And the perfect companion to facilitate forgiveness.
THE PREPARATION
Play some beautiful music, or chant invocations, and your personal intention of forgiveness.
Allow yourself to embody a space of uninterrupted reverence. Speak love and gratitude into every ingredient as you create this decadent potion.
Around 28g or 1 ounce of ceremonial cacao.
Take your time as you shave the cacao from the block.
Add coconut sugar, honey, rapaduraor or other sweetener, to taste.
A drop of essential oil if you have any on hand (I use a drop of wild orange and a drop of
frankincense)
A dash of cinnamon
A shake of dried chilli flakes, or pinch of cayenne pepper
And mix with 100-150ml hot water or warm ever so gently on the stove
(You can use coconut milk too if you prefer)
Pour into your favourite mug.
THE PROCESS
Sit somewhere you love, in nature, grounded, or light a candle in a cozy, special space indoors.
Invite the Spirit of Cacao in with gratitude.
Honour the ancient custodians of this divine plant medicine.
Honour Her journey throughout time and space as she makes Her way into your ceremony.
Surrender to Her.
Focus on what Forgiveness will mean for you as you savour every sip, and feel your heart space opening.
Hold the situation, event, or person in your mind, whether it’s yourself or another.
Place the need to forgive and let go within yourself, the person holding the feeling, because anything that’s going on within you, or that happens to you, is merely a reflection of your consciousness, where it was created.
Those feelings of anger, judgment, fear, regret are within you, so let’s get them out.
Open your journal and write what is in your heart. It doesn’t matter if makes sense or not, just start writing.
Write about why you gifted this sacred ceremony to yourself.
What is the gift in this experience you’re seeking Forgiveness for? (yes! I said gift!)
Have you built resilience or grit?
Did it bring you closer to your loved ones? It might be difficult but try to find something.
How was holding onto this impacting your personal and professional life? How do you feel about letting that go?
If you want to go all in, grab a piece of paper….
Write a list of all the things you’ve done that you regret.
EVERYTHING! And the harm they caused you or someone else. Confessing, even to ourselves, prevents denial and suppression.
Understand that it’s your reaction to those things today not the event itself, that is holding you back, whether it was last week or 30 years ago.
How does that make you feel?
Place your hand on your heart and apologise.
To anyone you’ve hurt including yourself, and apologise to yourself for holding on to the guilt or shame.
Now go outside and use your candle to BURN IT ALL, releasing all guilt, shame, resentment, anything you no longer need to be holding onto.
Place your hand on your heart again, and declare
“I AM FREE
Thank you, thank you, thank you”
“A big heaping of forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it” – Mark Twain

ps- Ceremonial cacao is no ordinary chocolate.
It’s cultivated with intention, and in alignment with the Spirit of Cacao, also known as the Cacao Goddess.
The one I use is grown in the rainforests without chemicals, in its natural habitat.
The beans are hand peeled, and all the mouldy ones are removed (a rare part of the processing, not usually done in most raw cacao production). The process, and the cacao are treated with compassion, love, respect, and reverence, and that energy is ingested by those who savour her sacredness.
It’s the highest grade cacao available, supporting indigenous Ashaninka Villages.
So if you can’t find any locally, I stand by Sacred Cacao. Use code SJF for 10% off
